Description Quilted spread in black and white in the "Irish Puzzle" or "Kansas Troubles" pattern, cicra 1900. The top is machine stitched which is unusal for a quilt of this age. It has no batting but the top and back are hand quilted. These lightweight quilts with no batting were sometimes made for summer in the hot midwestern and southern areas of the nation..
